Data Deletion Policy
Last updated: February 24, 2026
At Money Manager, we respect your right to control your personal data. When you request account deletion, we use a privacy-preserving anonymisation approach rather than a blanket wipe. This lets us remove everything that identifies you while preserving anonymised financial records that help us improve the service.
How to Delete Your Account
You can delete your account in two ways:
- In-app: Go to Settings → Data → Delete Account. Type the confirmation phrase and confirm.
- Email: Send an email to privacy@gleomento.com from the email address associated with your account, requesting deletion. We will process your request within 7 business days.
What Gets Deleted (Permanently Removed)
The following data is permanently and irreversibly deleted because it contains personally identifiable information (PII):
| Data | What's removed |
|---|---|
| Authentication | Email address, password hash, auth session — the entire auth user record |
| Profile | Full name, WhatsApp phone number, verification codes |
| Push subscriptions | Browser notification endpoints, encryption keys, user agent |
| WhatsApp data | Chat sessions, message deduplication records |
| AI memories | Behavioural insights, spending patterns, preference memories, and associated vector embeddings |
| Preferences | Notification settings, quiet hours, budget thresholds |
| Notifications | All notification records and delivery logs |
| Statement uploads | File references to uploaded bank statements |
| AI feedback | Tool call logs, correction records |
What Gets Anonymised (PII Stripped, Data Retained)
The following financial records are anonymised — all names, descriptions, and identifiable text are replaced with generic labels. The numerical data (amounts, dates, categories) is retained in de-identified form:
| Data | What happens |
|---|---|
| Transactions | Name → "Transaction", description → removed. Amount, date, type, and category link are kept. |
| Accounts | Name → "Account", provider → removed. Type and balance are kept. |
| Payment methods | Method name → "Method" |
| Income sources | Name → "Income Source". Amount and frequency are kept. |
| Recurring expenses | Name → "Recurring Expense". Amount, frequency, and dates are kept. |
| Assets | Name → "Asset", notes and metadata → removed. Type and values are kept. |
| Loans | Name → "Loan", lender and notes → removed. Amounts, rates, and dates are kept. |
| Goals | Name → "Goal", contribution notes → removed. Target amounts and dates are kept. |
| Budgets | Kept as-is (contains only amounts, month/year, and category references) |
| Net worth snapshots | Kept as-is (contains only aggregate totals and dates) |
Why Anonymise Instead of Delete Everything?
- Privacy-first: Once anonymised, the financial data cannot be traced back to you. There is no email, name, phone number, or any identifier left.
- Service improvement: Anonymised, aggregate financial patterns help us improve category suggestions, budget recommendations, and spending insights for all users.
- Regulatory compliance: This approach aligns with GDPR's concept of anonymisation — once data is truly anonymised (cannot be re-identified), it falls outside the scope of personal data regulations.
Full Deletion Option
If you prefer complete deletion of all data including anonymised financial records, contact us at privacy@gleomento.com and explicitly request a full purge. We will delete everything within 7 business days.
After Deletion
- You will be immediately signed out and cannot sign back in.
- Your email address is freed — you can create a new account with it if you wish.
- Deletion is irreversible. We cannot recover your account or data once deleted.
- Anonymised financial records that remain are no longer linked to any identity and cannot be attributed to you.
WhatsApp Data
If your WhatsApp number was linked, the phone number is deleted from our database immediately. Any messages you sent to our bot were processed in real time and not permanently stored. Session data is deleted as part of account deletion.
Note: Messages stored on your device in WhatsApp are managed by WhatsApp/Meta and are outside our control. You can delete those conversations from your phone at any time.
Third-Party Data
Account deletion removes your data from our systems. Data that was sent to third-party services during your use of the app (OpenAI for AI processing, Meta for WhatsApp delivery) is subject to their respective retention policies:
